Regisseurin/ Autorin (*1984 in Izmir) hat ihre ersten filmischen Erfahrungen in Zusammenarbeit mit Prof. Adolf Winkelmann für das Video-Kunst-Projekt "FLIEGENDE BILDER" am Dortmund U und in Zusammenarbeit mit Produktionsfirma colourfield für Kino-, und Fernsehproduktionen wie "DEUTSCHLAND VON OBEN", "AUTOMATIC BRAIN", gesammelt.
Ihren ersten Kino-Dokumentarfilm „DÜGÜN – Hochzeit auf Türkisch“ hat sie gemeinsam mit dem international ausgezeichneten Dokumentarfilmemacher Marcel Kolvenbach 2015 fertiggestellt.
Im Jahr 2016 arbeitete sie gemeinsam mit Marcel Kolvenbach an dem Dokumentarfilmprojekt für den Bayrischen Rundfunk „OMO“, wo die Schicksale von Geflüchteten auf ihrem Weg nach Deutschland thematisiert wurden.
Mit dem Filmprojekt „DAS VERLORENE PARADIES“ im Auftrag des Theater Dortmund mit jungen Geflüchteten aus Syrien, fing Ayse Kalmaz an, im Rahmen von künstlerisch partizipativen Projekten die Perspektive der Menschen auf ihre eigenen Geschichten noch unmittelbarer einzubeziehen.
Im Jahr 2017 realisierte sie mit dem Kinderschutzbund und dem Parkwerk e.V. erst das Projekt "Lohberg 46" , dem "DAS WUNDER VON LOHBERG" folgte, wo Themen der interkulturellen Konflikte, Vorurteile und Rassismus auf eine teils fiktive Art und Weise gemeinsam mit den Bewohnern entwickelt und filmisch verarbeitet worden sind.
2018 realisierte sie das künstlerisch interdisziplinäre Projekt "DOWNLOAD FUTURE" am Theater Dortmund, dem im Jahr 2019 das Filmprojekt "PERSPEKTIVWECHSEL" ein Film über die Gewalt zwischen der Einsatzkräften der Polizei Dortmund und der Fussballfans des BVB, folgte.
Aktuell widmet Sie sich neben verschiedenen Kunst-, und Kulturprojekten und Filmworkshops mit inhaltlichem Schwerpunkt zu Themen der interkulturellen Konflikte, Rassismus und Migration, der Friedensinitative "FOR PEACE" in Zusammenarbeit mit der Organisation Love for Life in Berlin und weiteren internationalen Friedensorganisationen wie PAX und Center for Humanitarian Dialogue.
Ein internationales künstlerisches Forschungsprojekt zum Thema "Dritte Kultur - THIRD SPACE" steht aktuelle im Fokus ihrer Arbeit.

Director/writer (*1984 in Izmir) gained her first cinematic experiences in collaboration with Prof. Adolf Winkelmann for the video art project “FLIEGENDE BILDER” (Flying Pictures) at the Dortmund U and in cooperation with the production company colorfield for cinema and television productions such as “DEUTSCHLAND VON OBEN” (Germany from above), “AUTOMATIC BRAIN”.
Her first cinema documentary film “DÜGÜN – Hochzeit auf Türkisch” (DÜGÜN – Wedding in Turkish) she made together with the international award-winning documentary filmmaker Marcel Kolvenbach in 2015.
In the 2016 she worked together with Marcel Kolvenbach on the documentary film project for the BR – Bavarian Broadcasting “OMO”, where the destinies of refugees on their way to Germany were thematized.
With the film project “DAS VERLORENE PARADIES” (The Lost Paradise), commissioned by the Theater Dortmund with young refugees from Syria, Ayse Kalmaz began to explore the perspective of people on their own journey, own stories even more directly.
In 2017, together with the Kinderschutzbund and Parkwerk e.V., she first realized the project “Lohberg 46” , which was followed by “DAS WUNDER VON LOHBERG” (the miracle of Lohberg), where topics of intercultural prejudices and racism were developed together with the residents in a partly fictitious way residents were developed and processed cinematically.
In 2018, she realized the artistic interdisciplinary project “DOWNLOAD FUTURE” at the Theater Dortmund, which will be followed in 2019 by the film project “PERSPEKTIVWECHSEL” (Change of Perspective) a film about the violence between the emergency forces of the police Dortmund and the football fans of the BVB, followed.
Currently, she dedicates herself to various art and cultural projects and film workshops with a focus on intercultural conflicts, racism and migration, and to the peace initiative “FOR PEACE” in cooperation with the organization Love for Life in Berlin and other international peace organizations such as PAX and the Center for Humanitarian Dialogue.
The international artistic research project on the topic of “Third Culture – THIRD SPACE” is actually in the focus of her work.
